SSS changed or busted in 4r2b?

So I spent some quality time playing with SSS in release 4, using he default SSS project sphere. I got results I was happy with, and felt I was able to dial in and control the shader/rendering to get an effect that was working for me. In 4r2b, the things I was doing no longer work. It almost seems like SSS isn’t really working properly at all. I either get a medium amount of SSS, or it’s totally blown out. This effect is the same even when I’m trying to adjust different parameters. Either a medium amount, or just blown out. I seem to have no control over dialing it in and adjusting it.

Is something different and/or busted in 4r2b with SSS? Is the workflow different now, and the previous way of using it is no longer valid?

Any suggestions, links to videos/tutorials etc would be greatly appreciated.

What has changed is the addition of environment panel under shader menu! You have to adjust these parameters for every material ‘node’. On a two nodes material, try shadows and AO at 0 for the SSS.
We better wait for the new release now.

Cool, thanks Michalis. I did get it functioning again, although it seems to work differently now. I guess I’ll wait till the next release before I try and relearn this stuff again.
