I have a subtool that I have filled with a color and material using subtool master. I have one of the default green grass images loaded in spotlight and am trying to paint color onto the model. My brush is set to RGB:100 and ZAdd:0, yet the brush sculpts the model but applies no color. What am I doing wrong here?
I failed to mention that I am on a Mac running ZB4.
Also, I appended a new subtool to the same tool and did not see the same problem. For example, subtool A (the head pictured above) does not receive color information when using the standard brush (RGB:100; ZAdd:0), but rather gets sculpted. However subtool B (newly appended mesh) does indeed receive color information when using the same brush, and does not inherit sculpted details.
What is different about subtool A? Did using Subtool Master>Fill to fill the subtool with a color and material affect the ability of using Spotlight somehow?
Any assistance is appreciated.
Have you filled with the Bump Viewer Material? My guess is that you have - it’s a special material that will show any color you paint as bump. Choose a different material and fill the model with it and I think you’ll see that you have been painting all along.
