spotlight-problem with bringing an texture on my model

hi,

i got a spotlight-problem with bringing an texture on my model.

i saw the zclassroom video, reproduced it step by step, but with no good result.

here is my workflow:

  • i got an head-model with an uv-set.

  • i bring my material to “matcap white”

  • i load the ztool (which is the head-model)

  • i switch on the “edit” button

  • i go to “polypaint” and check the “colorize”-button

  • i open up the texture menue and dock it to the right

  • i click on the “import”-button and load my head-texture

  • i click on the “add to spotlight”-button

  • i click on the “rgb”-button and select “rgb-intensity 100”

  • my texture appears on the canvas

  • i open the dial and click on paint

  • then i click “z” to hide the palet

  • i activate “x” and try to bring the texture on the model

----- but no texture is placed on the white head-material

what is my fault?

thank you very much for an answer!

Under Tool is Texture, you should be able to load it from there without Spotlight to paint it on the model.

hi doug,

thanks for your answer!

yes, you´re right… that works fine!

but unfortunately i have to place some texture parts manually
so that i must use spotlight (it is an amzing tool)…

i tried different settings:

and under “polypaint” i checked also “polypaint from texture”
and i used to “check” the “mrgb”-button

and now i can paint

If you want to paint more, you’ll have to turn the texture off. You can also try ZappLink under the Document menu.

Make sure the RGB or MRGB button is selected at the top of your screen for the brush you’re using. Also depending on what you want from the picture you might want to turn off the Zadd and/or Zsub button while painting.
