I just encountered a weird bug in spotlight and eventually found a fix. Spotlight would not respond to the ‘z’ command. When I first added a texture I would get the control ring, but after that it would not come back. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no joy. Eventually I tried uninstalling, then removing all the data from ‘C:\Users\Public\Pixologic’ . After that I went into regedit and removed any remaining keys referring to Pixologic. Then I reinstalled and the bug was gone. Evidently some data containing the bug was still remaining even after an uninstall.
