Splitting and then animating?

Hi again everybody,

Just wondering… could you divide a mesh into 2 so that poly count for each one of them is higher than the whole? How?
If so, can you export the 2 pieces and then animate them in another 3D package -say XSI-?

Thanks :+1:

if you wnat to give different polgon counts to parts of one model you can mask one part and subdivide the unmasked one.

This way you wont need to split it.

or else create them sepeartely.

I belive you are trying a technique used in other softwares like splitting a mesh in two to get more polygons.

. why not export the base mesh from zbrush into xsi and split it there if you are apt with that software and reimport it back in to zbrush…
