Hi guys, i finally found the time to work on a still image
This picture talks about the ways a man chooses to live, someone follow his dreams, his passions, some others choose to stop and accept what they got; maybe everyone got a main common goal, this could be a family, a person u can trust, a child…a child who will start choosing the ways he want to live, and so on, like in a spiral
Hope u enjoy this, I enjoyed a lot working on it
This is beautiful!!!,and the message of the image is very good! 5 stars for sure!, the two little guys at the bottom are about to choose the destiny of his lifes, AMAZING Brother
Thats awesome! It has a nice illustrative look to it.
Hey zzagno,
this is a beautiful and surreal piece… my only crits (what I might do, rather) would be:
1.it could use some more colour variation -especially in the skin tones, even with the restricted palette,
2.the tree wants to feel as ancient as human destiny itself, so lots more surface texture, more gnarling and more roots!
3. more symbolism in and on the tree; depict the different seasons of man maybe - aged man with long, long, long beard / death-head or skull / a mask of deception / a giant worn shoe in the distance… whatever freaky $#!t pops into your head
All that said it’s lovely… great work!
Like the surrealism!
hi guys thx to all for the replies
and thx also for the crits, i’ll pay attention to these details in my future pictures
the only thing i disagree is “more symbolism in and on the tree”, the tree itself is a pregnant woman profile (i’m pretty sure this could have been shown in a better way). The original idea was to make different poses of the little men on the tree, let’s say i have some problems in creating nice poses :o
Didn’t catch the symbolism of this pic until you pointed it out. Clever. Earth Mother, Tree of Life, Yggdrasil, all are relative, in a sense. This is one of the best Z-Trees that I’ve seen thus far.
Inspired!!!
Beautiful piece.
Lovely illustration, really good use of Zbrush.
just
thanks.
thx guys
this is a detail of the zbrush meshes and what the scene looks like in 3dsmax, sadly i could not use displacement maps, after using 2 or 3 my PC basically told me “u’r not gonna render this…”, maybe next time i’ll try to use directly zbrush renders for the final image

Very cool concept…I really like it especially with small characters to show the immense scale of the twisted tree
