Spider-Man W.I.P

Hi Guys,

Here is a model I have been working on for a few weeks. I feel there is tweaking to be done, but I'm happy with the model for now. Still trying to figure out my niche with Zbrush, Just a matter of working away at it. The model was made in 3ds max. The muscles for the model were normal mapped in Zbrush along with other details. Then the whole thing was rigged and rendered back in 3ds max. Here’s a turnaround i just made of Spider-Man. Boy am I glad i did a Turn around. I can see all the seams sucked into each other. But thankfully that’s a quick fix because the details on the maps I saved as layers.

Heres a Black-Spidey render. It was really hard, i had to desaturate the colored diffuse map…It took forever…

A closeup of the detail in the lenses and the webbing in the costume.

looks pretty cool, but idk if its just me his head looks kinda long and thin

Thanks doodoorocks. I shortened his head a little and I also got rid of the outline, like in the first image

The last render is definitely my fave! :+1:

Thanks splodge! :D,

Here is a new render. I fixed the size of Spider-Mans head, and most of the uv seams where the webbing was sucked into itself. Plus my new favorite love is the depth of field effect for the cameras in 3ds max:D

Looks like Gumby, like he doesn’t have any muscles or bones or even a nose under his costume.

Thank you caffeineandpixels

zbrush reworking. I think i may have gone overboard and made him a little too jacked than lean muscle.

Look up anatomy proportions and restructure your main body shapes. Right now it kind of looks like a Spider-Man stuffed animal. Also the webbing outlay looks a little weird in a few places.

Great work Verde! :+1:
I like the textures and rendering but i have to agree with caffeineandpixels that his body and proportions are a bit off.
You should try to define his shape and muscles a bit more.
Hope you don’t mind, but i made a quick paint-over-sketch from your last render. it’s not perfekt but i think it gives you an idea of what we are talking about

Thanks Train22, I know what people are talking about, and thank you for the sketch on how I should go about adding more muscle definition. I think I might as well just remodel Spider-Man and start from scratch. What doesnt kill me makes me stronger.

hehe that’s the spirit keep making!

Im almost doen refining the base mesh, so that it will have a better sillouette, then Im bringing it into Zbrush. I will post pics:+1:

okey dokey, So I stayed up for a while retopologizing my old spider-man mesh in 3ds max, and finally brought it into ZBrush. Here is what i have SO FAR. ignore the head, I didn’t spend that much time on it yet.
