Sean - thanks for the side by side tip.
Here’s the same alpha (in the middle of the rocks) in reverse.

Damn! Ya, put some of that detail on the architecture! Can you edit the arrangement of the stones? Some of the stones look like they are floating and sticking out without support. Can you arrange the stones like they are supporting the stone placed above them? You should look at ancient South American architecture for inspiration. You should design a courtyard leading to a temple door.
O’ I wasn’t talking about a side by side comparison. I was talking about showing parts of the design in a slightly weathered state, still showing the original man made design. Then on the same design, show some ruin elements that have been destroyed by man or weather. Tell a story of the history why the architecture is in ruin.
Very interesting,
Sean
Sean - haven’t been working on a structure per-say (resources) - just the alphas. The rocks are made from Nick’s IM brush set at the IMM Depository here at ZBC. Here http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?170167-Insert-Multi-Mesh-Repository&p=972567&viewfull=1#post972567
They also have some chains insert brushes at the link - which could be used to add at the bottom (or anywhere) as if coming from the alpha detail.
To get the detail to work so far from using the alpha the alpha is about 4000 res.
Maybe this is what you mean by architecture - seeing your horse I used a castle (a free model) a best render using just the red wax default material.
Can you see how the alpha is working with the structure?
I think the resource part of the journal is pretty full. Doesn’t mean something else might show up that can be used as a resource.
So, this is pretty much what I have found on resources - if you have some please post them.
The one more before going on into something else.
FRACTALS:)
The above alphas I am working on are from fractals (around 4000 res or higher) and can make some interesting alphas.
One resource that is not well known is the use of the fractal program Mandelbulb 3D (free program) along with Fiji (free program)
to create 3d sections of fractals and save them as an obj file which can be used within ZBrush.
In this first video by Don Whitaker you will notice not only the fractal but the use of fibermesh.
So, to start creating fractals to use with ZBrush in 3D
Don Whitaker has created five videos to help do just that - the first 4 are some in’s and out’s of Mandelbuld 3D and the fifth one
puts it together for creating obj files. All files can be seen at this Playlist http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHxH3WuM1n6MkNDR4-1W6dXioCU33-XuQ
And here’s my first obj within Zbrush
Now a break:)
Yup, its cool.
Sean
Thanks Sean
A quick make alpha from a Mandelbulb 3D fractal in ZBrush
Break:)
Hey Spaceman, would you know how to use Smart Resym, in the Deformations to mirror polypaint? If I mask one side and have RGB turned on it doesn’t seem to work. Sometimes I forget to turn on active symmetry X on and need to have the left side look like the right side.
Sean
I haven’t done that.
Here is a link to a might work way (remember backup your ztool before trying)

Hi Space Man
Just stopping by to say…Really enjoying your thread …Excellent…
Glenn
You might remember the post about the Comic Ink Set Matcaps
There has been some mention of using the ZBrush stencil tool and after thinking on this I think this might help
First
Etcher_Sketcher (while watching these think about the uses of the Comic Book Ink matcaps)
Check out his posts here - lots of cool stuff http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?78703-Etcher_Sketcher&highlight=etcher

Here’s a Bush IM Brush
Try this when using the insert brush - bring a sphere into edit mode (very small sphere) and insert the IM Brush and drag fairly large the rotate and insert the Bush IM again this time some where on the bush and grow a Jungle:)

Wow man, you have some nice work going on here. Great job.
Thanks tonare:)
UPDATE to the Bush IM Brush - Looking for a place so it can be downloded as it is about 200k over limit here.
I used the castle model and applied the IM Brush what do you think - does it seem to work.
15 million polys … man you must a monster of a machine…
lol:D
Toy train engine IM Brush
Here’s the link to the IM Brush mentioned in post 117 - edit that post to include it.
