SPACE CARRIER

Short lunchtime project. The ship was modeled in Wings 3D then imported into ZBrush where it was divided and smoothed. Custom texture was applied using TextureMaster. The Jupiter image was an image map I downloaded from the net.

Looking good!

Is it technically possible to make the Jupiter’s outline just a tiny bit soft? (so that it looks like a gas giant)

Maybe the bump map should be a tiny bit less strong? It gives the ship a rounded look… what I mean, is that the small details on the surface that should look sharp, look kind of rounded. The bump somehow makes the ship look like it was the size of a shoe. (if you catch my drift)

Perhaps just a larger resolution texture could solve this?

Great ship design/modeling Lonnie!
I like the blue nebula especially!
Nicely done!
Take care,
Michael

Thats sooooooo sweet.

nice hull plating – looks very sturdy :+1:

speaking of space carriers, did you know there is a new Battlestar Galactica game coming out on the PS2 and XBox?

Hehe Jay…there is a NEW Battlestar Galactica mini series that will be playing this December on Sci-Fi.

Ha, ha… you can’t fool me… next you’ll be saying they’re making a sequel to the Star Trek series.

Don’t tell me that sort of thing. If I get cable or satellite so that I can watch the SciFi channel, I’ll never master ZBrush!

I am dead serious Jay. They were running the teaser clip during the airing of Children of Dune. I can’t wait!!

wow lonnie… this is pretty cool… did you also use the jupitor map as a bump map.

Great work Lonnie!!! The integration experimentations with other apps continue…
Really cool image !!! :+1: :+1:

Cool Sci-Fi work, Mentat. :sunglasses: :+1:

Cool ship, kind of has a 1930’s SF Magazine Cover look to it.

I hope the the Battlestar Galactica mini-series that they do a better job than Galactica 1980! :shudders:
