As of 6.00pm last evening www.southerngfx.co.uk has returned from the dark recesses of abyss. I had to move the whole site again as these UK servers just dont like traffic Im afraid. Anyway, it`s back.

So whats new?

It is only in the first stages of development as of this evening and I really would like some feedback (It is on a UK server so US tests would be very welcome. I know some people don`t think we need a chat room but now there is a dedicated one there just in case.

There is no link from my site to the chat room yet as I want you guys to help me test it from here:

Here’s a heads-up for you…
I’m in British Columbia, Canada, and here’s my report.

:b4: To sign up for the Chatroom - Mucho problemo…Nothing happens, except for a rather attractive, but non-informative orange triangle in the upper-left corner of an otherwise unadorned white page…

Stonecutter, I got the same arrow until I found that the “sign up” link is not active.
All you have to do is click the Z Chat graphic to start talking. Looks cool.

Well Stonecutter I was just in there but I’m not familiar with all of the chat room stuff
so I don’t think I was being how you say comprehended-anyway just click on the link at the bottom of the page and it’ll take you right in to the chat room.

Thanks all, sorry about the orange arrow bad link.

The code seems fine and I`ve managed to talk to a couple of people and wish tehm happy new year in there.

Im not the worlds biggest chat room fan but every now and then its good to talk to a few people about a subject or topic related to the software. I usually arrange a time to be in there before hand.

We shall see how this works and I would suggest we ask to have this thread saved in Quicklinks so that we can use it in the future if needed.

Hi Glen.
I was able to enter and chat without any difficulty of any kind. first chat room I’ve dropped by in about two years…
Anyway, seems to work well.
Nice update to your site in general.

A very comprehensive site, Glen. How on earth do you manage to put so much time into stuff like this, work a job, and still turn out so many amazing works of art? If you’ve managed to stumble onto Hermione Granger’s trick for being in two places at once, I’m hopping the first flight to England to find out how it’s done! :slight_smile:

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to digging through the contents of the site and probably learning lots of new stuff. Thank you!

One minor favor: When you have time, could you change the link that you have to my Renderosity gallery so that it goes to The Aurickle instead? Thanks!

hey, your Jig might be up but mine isnt, I cant keep my eyes open.

I thought I was the saddest guy in town writing a Jave chat page at 2.00am this morning but then I found out the three of the guys rang in the new year in there! Make me look sensible! hehehe.

If I am a big graphic company I want to know where all the profit is going coz I get squat!

I know I must be missing something…
how do you get into the chatroom? :smiley:
When I click on the flashing neon sign it brings up a new window, with the same page I’m already on.
As for the rest of the site: I’m in awe! A wonderful job, great content. :+1:

Hmm. To see if silly me could figure this out, I looked through that page’s code. I don’t know why it doesn’t work for me, but I did find a link in the code to “http://southerngfx.co.uk/cgi-sys/mchat.cgi?channel=southerngfx.co.uk%20”. Maybe this is in fact not the correct link? Because when I go there it tells me it can’t find the southerngfx host. (It also mentions that it is addicted to the spice melange…?). On the other hand, most chatrooms don’t work for me due to some funny stuff with my net setup. :)+ :rolleyes: + :qu: .
