I really need some help in one thing. how can you drag a 3D max 7 model to Zbrush?

narutochen : thanks man, the way to do it, is once u have ur model done in max, file-> export and use the obj format, then in zbrush, tools, import, and u will have the file in zbrush, is quite straight forward!

popoff yes u can import/export between max and zbrush without problems.

saltapiedras, hice los modelos basicos en 3dsmax y luego todo el modelado en zbrush, podria usar zspheres pero voy mas rapido en max, lo tengo mas por la mano! :smiley:

Hi MetaMesh…great stuff…AMAZING STUFF!!

You mentioned you use VRAY for displacements…are you able to get similar results using the standard Max render…I have very poor results using displacements within Max. Wondering if you could share some enlightenment on this. Is VRAY the way to go?..or can you achieve decent results thru Standard Max?

Hi Clubitz, i´d say that Vray is much better for the displacement…the quality is the same that u get in zbrush, is just great…if i have to use the standar max scanline, what i use to do is to add a meshsmooth modifier to the object, set the modifier to let´s say 3 iterations ( even 4) in the render time, and set a displace modifier over the meshsmooth…u can get pretty nice results in this way! but if u put too much iterations, max will just crash…so jut try with that, otherwise vray is the way :slight_smile:

… i cannot export/import my models in max properly :angry: , they are on facetes … may be i make some mistakes …

popoff once you import your model to 3dmax and you have some facetes, try to add a smooth modifier ( not meshsmoot, not turbosmooth…just a “smooth” modifier, and then set it to auto smooth with an angle of 180…you should have you model smoother out then…try it and let me know if it works

Me ayudas con algunas preguntas, please…

-Que sistema de modelado usas?..box modeling, poly by poly…?

-Que tanto de la forma trabajas en 3D max y que tanto trabajas en Zbrush?..es decir, algunos artistas trabajan la forma hasta casi terminarla y luego añaden detalle en zbrush…otros trabajan la forma de manera muy muy basica en max o maya y luego trabajan todo el resto en zbrush…como lo haces tu?

-Tus renders son fantasticos, que tipos de luces usaste, cuantas, etc?.. y cuanto tiempo aproximadamente tardo el proceso de render?
