Hey dude, I just watched your video. very good stuff, brilliant technique, but I have a few questions about it:
- You seem to be using zbrush2 - is that because you did the initial texturing in that , or what? Did it take that long to produce vid?
2: I liked the detail u go into, but when it came to the reakky interesting stuff- like the subdermal map for the shake comps, you get a little vague. I mean I would have lked you to go over exactly what u do with each pass.
- I’m a max person, not maya, and I’m a little confused why you think the nexus shader is so great - doesn’t it simply seperate out the various passes? What’s so revolutionary about that? MAx does this on the fly at render time.
Again - very informative, great stuff, just love more on SSS -there are so many different techniques out there, I;m very confused at the moment.

Well,I got the nexus installed on MAYA 2008 sp2 .It works fine but it seems it is not fully functional.
1- The shuffle doesn’t work and also I can’t keep my render images to compare anymore:(. (I also get this error: // Error: Unknown object type: NexusX")
2-Also if you want to output your frame buffers,Maya crashes right away.
I am just wondering if all these problems happening because it is “LITE” version of nexus?.
3-Also,Do we have to pay to get the full version of nexus and if so ,how much is going to cost?

I red on the read me file that the shader is for 32 bits. So it will not work for 64 bits right? I am not even installing this for I have vista 64 bits. I am really sad. but thanks for the link.
Does it work with xp64 + maya32bit?

lite cause some nice shader are not in there nexusX or nexusMIA perhaps ?
get the same problems here no shuffle and fatal error
I was getting the same crashing problems when trying to output all the frame buffers. I had to go back and render each one by themselves to get the seperate files. The shader works great, I also downloaded the trail version of shake as well. The frame buffers work great when composited in shake. Still some bugs in the pipeline but im pumped.
If any figures out the crashing and shuffle problem please let us know.

Yes, Nexure Shader is Great as long as those problems are solved.
Also,Maya’s Native “Keep Image” and “Remove image” in render view stops functioning when you install nexus shader. So you can’t even compare your final renders with in render view.
Is this happened to anyone else?Please let me know.

I saw the video and when he did that pore and wrinkle map, zadd and zsub was off and only rgb was on inside projection master and he was displacing the geometry with tha alpha, how that is done? he was seeing the displacement from the pores changing the light but I dont understand that… with only rgb on, the only thing that happens is color on the surface. It seems interesting to only do a bump map, not actually displacing the geometry…thanks
