Some general modeling help

Hello, I was wondering how i would go about making teeth, I have seen videos and creations with some very decent teeth and I was wondering what your method of making teeth is to help me (I have no idea how to make them) Thanks to all help.

depends on if you want teeth…or teeth with gums, or teeth with jaw. It’s all basically the same, but a little different for each.

Anyway, teeth…a box for each, then sculpt.
Teeth with gums…a box for each, and a long curved box for gums.
teeth with the inner mouth, a box for each tooth, then a sphere or box that you can cut away a piece to make the opening of the mouth.

You can also use Zspheres for the whole process. Or edge model the base in another app and add details in Zbrush.

Ah ok good to know it isn’t done with any brushes, so how would i make it all 1 model would each tooth be a subtool? no that would be to confusing plus i doubt there are that many slots. Would i just append a box or something then keep placing them inn the canvas? sorry if i don’t get it, i’ve had little to none expieriance 3d sculpting program wise, plus i’m still in high school so no 3d modelling classes. thanks for your help so far very eye opening.

If you have no need for extreme details, then 2 pieces of geometry, one for upper and one for lower rows of teeth, could also do the trick.

Here, this should help.

  1. One solid piece, teeth would be pulled out in the sculpting process
  2. Teeth extruded out (still one solid piece)
  3. Teeth and gums are seperate piece of geometry.
