[SOLVED] - How dose right click work in 3.5?

Hi there…

It seams that right click now rotates the model… witch in my opinion is awesome-o…

The thing is it dose not seam to function the way i would expect… like if you ALT+CLICK it centers the viable mesh objects and then if you click on open space and rotate the center of the rotation is the center of the screen… give you a nice neat rotation…

But if you right click to rotate it sort of wobbles all over the place as the rotation center is all weird…

Can someone please explain how this works… or best yet tell me how to make the right click function exactly like the “pen to tablet, move when outside the model to rotate”?

Thanks

hmmm in fact i can replicate the weird rotation with the clicking in open space (old school way) as well… . . .

Local Transformations is on by default in ZB 3.5, unlike previous versions. This means Zbrush will rotate around the last point of contact on the model, very useful for when you are working on an area.

If you switch this off (it’s on the right side of the viewing window), the model will always rotate along its center.

[edit] What is happening in your case, is that Local is on by default, and will rotate the model around its center until you make “contact” with it. If you Right click anywhere out in space, it will rotate along center…but if you initiate the right click with the cursor overlapping the model at all, it counts that as a “contact”, and will henceforth center on that point.

You can then correct this by switching off Local, or by making a new contact point on the mesh that you would prefer.
