[SOLVED]Adding edge loops using transpose isn't working?

Hi guys,

I am using ZBrush 4 R5 and I am reading this page in the documentation:

http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/4R4_Transpose_Additions

And at the bottom it says: “While Scale mode is active, holding the CTRL key and dragging the action line’s inner middle circle will create an edge loop on the boundary of the non-masked part of the model.”

However when I do that nothing happens. I have polyframe turned on to see where the edgeloop would be and have even watched the polygon count expecting it to go up to compensate for the added loop and it does not.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I’ve ensured that I am holding control and dragging on the inner middle circle.

Works a treat here. Switch to move, you’ll see points have been added.

Check that you do not have subdivision levels on your model. Or use freeze SubDivision Levels.

It should be Move mode and not Scale mode. Whoever wrote that made a mistake.

Thanks so much guys! Its working now

The docs are correct but perhaps it needs to be explained better.

With a Move mode edgeloop the geometry is extruded, inwards or outwards. With a Scale mode edgeloop, the geometry is expanded or contracted, depending on the direction you drag.

For both methods, click in the center of the area you want to work with to position the action line along the normals, then Ctrl+drag the center white ring along the action line. Rotating the work so that it is side-on helps with this.

In the attached pics, the arrow shows the direction of the Ctrl+drag.
