Soldier Child - Amnesty International

man, for what we have seen in the top row in the last posts, if this image doesnt go up there, i quit working with zbrush!

This is absolutely excellent! Perfection! I’m speechless! This better get top row.

I also agree this should go top row. this and the latest piece from Pstchoart
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=94344

both works tackle subjects which are for not even remotely related to fantasy, scifi, video games or your typical entertainment movie cg work and they are brilliantly executed.
the somewhat challenging subjects should not be the reason to keep it from top row. right on the opposite.

don’t get me wrong - I do love all the wonderfully done monsters and cartoony, gamy works - hell… I love to do horror stuff myself and enjoy anything done well and with a passion, but there is a growing base of Zbrush users who start to discover Zbrush as a tool for fine arts, more controversial artworks, media and even political work like this here and that base is a little under-represented.
I keep telling artists who really have no connection to the whole gaming and cg industry about Zbrush and often they hesitate to give it a try because they get the impression it’s mainly useful for doing space grunts and monsters.
of course that’s pretty narrow minded as well, but honestly, as an artist and ZBrush user who lives in both worlds, I would love to see a little more support for the less cg entertainment centric stuff.

Top row for the excellent image and top row for some of the comments here, like this one by Julian_K.
I am surprised that images that (finally, out of hundred others) have something to say are overlooked or treated with caution. Seems like people wish to forget the cruel world and live in a Pandonarniagothamutopia.

yep, another very well done piece. Frankly I don’t get why they needed a 3 version - they could have just taken a picture but you’ve done an awesome job sir :+1:

Excellent modeling work and reporting. The realism is very accomplished. To see if, once, ambitious people and armed, left us in peace to those who only have the ambition to live our lives in peace. Julian_K, the cruelty of children is that adults have learned. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

This work is really awesome!!!
Every element is so excellent! Sculpturing, texturing, and lighting are all fabulous!!!
From my angle, the wrist may be need a little improved and the palm seems a bit too long.
Love the military uniform!!!

Yeah really great job. Very powerful and clever imagery.

This should be top row, period.

congratz man !

Amazing work!
I like your realistic style. :+1:
5*

HEY!! lots of nice and very interesting comments.
thanks guys!!

Héhé , funny , I am just working on an image for Amnesty International also…
And guess the topic of mine …: Soldier Child!!
But my job is going in a totally different direction.
Imagine my surprise to fall just this moment on your image

But Amazing work!! Congrats!

graphicted: really? can you tell us something about it? it’s in 3d?

Hey Rodia,

It is indeed completely in 3D, but no zbrush needed this time
We are not really going for a realistic concept.
The jobs are still in production, so I can’t/may not give something out by now.

But I will keep you updated and post the images once I can, on this thread (if you don’t mind of course! (not going to start a new one, because it’s not really zbrush related.))

PS : Have you seen this spot already for Amnesty? ‘Completely’ made in 3D. Worth a watch!

Hey!
I’ve already seen this one and I think it’s really well done.
Antoine Magnien, a collegue of mine at Mecanique Generale, did four prints for this campaign. They are really great. I’ll post the link to his site once they’re out.

Excellent One!!! Top modeling skill n Nice render.

I am really, really, really pissed off at Pixologic for not putting this in the top row. I think it deserves to be there just as much as anything else thats in there now, if not, more.

wow …awesome render!!

When I saw the first render I thought this is the reference image and you are gonna make this child. but when I saw the further images i just stunned…
It’s so real… After looking the shaded version I quickly get back to the final render and trying to understand is it in 3d.

Very good work man… Hat’s off…
