Sneak peek #2 of ZBrush 4R2

Sweeeeeeeeet!

SHAZAM!!!

Need.

This is an insane work you guys at pixologic have done on this release. I can’t wait. Dynamic Tesselation, Booleans, Curve modeling, Cut tools… outstanding !

It’s true that a better retopology tool would be welcome, like a “retopo from polypaint” button or something :). But still, the best retopo tool out there remains the user himself. It all depends on how well you plan ahead, so I can live without it. This all looks very promising. More than one month to go… It’s gonna drive me crazy lol.

just the viewport shaders that sculptris works with. although i believe this has probably more to do the way the program works at its core (zbrush uses pixols while sculptris is probably more similar to mudbox… i guess)

Watching the torsos being lit by the background I had a total Zgasm

Made my own Z4R2 Sneak Peek Remix.
Could have made it wicked uber but…I’m just messing around!
Enjoy all!

You guys at pixo are really nuts.
Thanks for the vid. I liked what i’ve seen so much (damn).

Now we need to know what they show in Siggraph 2011.

I’d like to be able to import and export color and 32bits displacement maps with smoothed uvs (keeping hard borders and corners or not.)

Actually, it’s my main concern in production.

I can’t tell any real difference in the way they look between the two programs other than in ZBrush you have realtime shadows added in. In fact, Sculptris’ mats are basically the same setup as a very simplified ZBrush matcap materials, only without all the adjustable settings. You could take a screenshot of a ZBrush matcap or the sphere image it’s built from and use the image in Sculptris as the material. That’s all the materials really are in Sculptris - images of rendered spheres. And that’s the simple beauty of the mat system it has.

I asked for info yesterday as they tweeted that they were showing the new features of brush at siggraph but not a soul replied on the cgtalk forums. I guess nobody went to look.

Mike

Can’t believe how quiet Siggraph has been about this. I was going to comment on your post @ CGTalk but wouldn’t want to send a false alert. Can’t wait to really get some in-depth explanations about what exactly was in the preview vid.

This is truly wonderful! Did you fix Retopoly? What about Backface Masking?

fingers crossed for more retopo tools:+1:

Backface Masking has been available.

You can find it in the Brush Pallette! :+1:

Yay DynaMesh!

What is Dynamesh?

Paul Talks about DynaMesh !! <-- Click and See! 50 Seconds in!

Basically, its Sculptris mesh/modeling algorithms in the new ZBrush 4R2.
