Quick question I have my Frames on and I hit render model looks great all polygroups and wireframes can be seen. I do shift-s to capture a snapshot in place and move the model over and my shadows and the wireframe on all other subtools disappears. Am I missing something?
Do a Best render
It’s related to how BPR works. However, you can do it this way:
- In the Light palette, press Background>Create to create a new Background.
- (Optional) Turn off Light>Background>Rotate With Object
- Do a BPR render of your model with wireframes showing
- Snapshot the result using Shift+S
- Move model and do another BPR.
Thanks Marcus, that worked
Sorry to trouble you again but, I googled smooth normals and black faces in zbrush, maya and anything I could find I also searched here… any idea why when I smooth normals on my bpr and keyshot I get black shadows on my faces?
Found some material about this and understand now, the only question I have is can Zbrush use smooth shading based on angles and does it export normals?

You can use the Tool>Display Properties>Tangent slider to set smoothed normals by tangent on a per-subtool basis. I’m afraid I don’t know the finer points of adjusting that.
For export, the FBX plugin will export Smoothed Normals.
The more I read about it the more confused I am, I know zbrush is not aimed at low poly but I thought I could get by. From what I am seeing if I want to keep the poly`s low I will need to use another application to control normals. That or bake in creasing and add extra loops to make the smooth shading work better.
Adjusting the tangent normals actually made the problems worsen in either the -100 or the 100 direction.
Thanks for your help Marcus as always.
