Snapper

Hi,

Here is a creature that I’ve been practicing on in last days.
The head is inspired from a snapping turtle.

And the canvas mesh made in Silo.

Looks very good! I hope that you are going to put more colors in your texture, nice model, can you post some wireframe? Keep on man. :+1:

I haven’t finished the modeling yet… I think that I will scrap the bump map that I’ve used to displace the details and I’ll work directly on the mesh.
The problem is that I cannot pass 2.5 mil polys because the next level will be too high and it already works pretty slow… Don’t know how others can go high detail on the full body without splitting the mesh.

here is the wire

I’ve worked a little on the color texture

Cool I think this is coming along nicely. Can we see him from a couple of different angles. seems like his arms could use some shaping but its hard to tell without seeing the back and side.

Wouldn’t like this guy to give me the middle finger…
Good concept - a funny mixture between menacing and happy looks…
May I suggest you can move away from human anatomy on the body muscles… create interresting (but possible) muscle structure… Cuz right now, it kind of lokks like an aging body builder with a spandex halloween costume… well ok, maybe not.

Very good

:+1:

Thanks for the comments

I agree with you dzip about the concept… I think that it isn’t very strong. I haven’t thought about it very much. What I’ve wanted was a good subject for a zbrush exercise where I could practice some modeling. That’s a funny comparison with the aging bodybuilder  I wanted it to look very strong but not very agile.
