hello,
could someone please direct me to info concerning smoothing out my lines, i use a wacom but it dosent seem to have any pressure sensitivity w/ z3, is there an adjustment to stop the lines from looking like a series of bumps?
thanks,
semimoto
I use wacom tablet, have no problem, and really dont sure what you are seeing!
but take a look in Preferences>Tablet

ps: can you post what you are getting?
under stroke > mouse average
Default is 1, max is 8, the higher this is, the smoother your stroke will be. The problem is that the higher it is, the slower the system gets…try it out and see what value works best for your system.
i looked for zbrusch drivers, diddnt see them, could you post a link?
is there a way to save my settings when i close z?
and thanks to everyone for your help, this is the only forum that i am a member of that i havent seen any trollin or flaming, this place is great,
jim

Mouse averaging will smooth out the motion of the stroke, but if your problem is youre seeing it as a series of “dots”, like your stroke is “skipping”, the problem is more likely performance related, and mouse averaging will only add additional burden in this regard.
Every system reaches a level of polygons where performance starts to suffer and stroke “stuttering” will occur. To reduce this, work on lower levels of subdivision, or reduce the number of polygons on screen at one time as much as possible by hiding any portion of the mesh youre not working on…the visible mesh will then become more “pliable”. This effect is more pronounced with certain brushes… some just have a “broken” quality…try different ones to see if you can get better stroke quality.
In 2.5 mode (painting with pixols, not editing polymesh) stroke spacing can be adjusted right above the mouse averaging. This isnt available in poly mode.
If it really was the “motion” of the stroke you wanted smoothed out, people have already mentioned mouse averaging. But you should also check out “lazy mouse”, available in the stroke menu, or by pressing “L”.
Go into your tablet manager, dbl click on the image of the tablet, it should bring up a new small window with some extra options. Choose “Recognition Data”. This will increase the sampling rate of your tablet, from 100 hz to 200hz. I find this makes great improvements in stroke quality for all apps.
