Hello.
When creating normal maps, the workflow i have is:
1.Create a model in 3ds max.
2. Export it as an .obj
3. Import it to Zbrush.
4. Sculpt.
5. Use Zmapper to generate normal maps.
What i want to know is, are the smoothing groups of the model (in 3ds max) affect the result of the generated normal map?
I’ve noticed that all the models in Zbrush look faceted, as if they had no smoothing groups. Is that the case?
