Smoothing bruch has no effect anymore

Hi,
for some unknown reasons my smooth brush (shift key pressed while sculpting) does not have any effect anymore. Although I set the intensity to the highest level. Can you help me?

Is it masked? Are you sure the correct subtool is active? Is an overlapping subtool keeping you from seeing changes to the target subtool?

How dense is your mesh?

The denser the mesh, the more resistant to smoothing it is. You may need to select a different smoothing brush, increase its radius, or really ramp up the smoothing effect on the current brush. Adjusting things like the Brush Strength Modifier or the Z Intensity Curve in the brush menu may improve the smoothing power of a smoothing brush.

If working on a mesh with multiple subdivision levels, you can perform the smoothing on a lower subD level where it isn’t as resistant to smoothing, then work your way up level by level, where the amount of smoothing needed on the higher levels should be greatly reduced.

If you are working on a mesh at a single level of subdivision that has become so dense that it resists casual smoothing, it’s usually a sign that it’s time to transition to a tool with multiple subdivision levels. However, if not yet ready for that, Sculptris Pro mode provides the ability to reduce surface density in real time as you brush, making smoothing easier.

Ok, so I checked the amount of segments which is quite high. I also played with the strength multiplier but it seems to have no effect.
I could sculpt with clay so there seems to be nothing masked.
I am not quite sure how to check the density. Do you mean the mesh density. This should be ok according to the screenshot I would say. Is there another lever for the brush strength? I could not find any. Only the z intensity I set to a high value.
Ah and sculptris pro was already enabled according to the screenshot

 I am just wondering if there is another Sculptris Pro menu. Because I saw in the Sculptris Pro video from zclassroom that there is an adaptive size slider.

In the “Brush > Sculptris Pro” subpalette, if you turn off “Use Global” button, then the “SubDivide Size” and “UnDivide Ratio” sliders will become available to you. Raise the “SubDivide Size” slider to reduce mesh density. Make sure to enable Sculptris Pro.

Thanks @zber2. that helps. Sculptris Pro mode is amazing in case of sculpting parts with more details whereas other parts can be left without detail.

I encountered the same problem, only the solution provided doesn’t work for me. When I try to sculpt with Sculptris Pro, it tells me that the mesh is composed of too many polygons and I have to look in preferences. After doing this, nothing changes. Can someone help?
