Smooth Stronger brush not showing in custom menu right away

Hey, i stumbled upon another strange thing. Today I setup my first custom menu to speed up my workflow a bit. Part of this menu are several sculpting brushes.
What I’ve noticed is, that even though i have put the smooth stronger brush in there (several times now :-D) it does not show up after a fresh start.
But as soon as i open it via Lightbox/Brush/Smooth/Smooth Stronger.ZBP once, it does for the rest of the session.

Is there a way to avoid this and have it appear right away in my custom menu?

Hi @buboj ,

Custom brushes won’t show on a custom UI unless they are loaded into the program, AND would be active in the program based on the situation. Many 3D functions need a Tool in 3D edit mode before they will appear.

You would need to either load the brush from Lightbox first, or add the brush to the Startup folders.

Don’t go crazy doing this, as this will affect ZBrush performance. We advise not adding more than 25 items per category (brushes, material, alpha, etc) to the ZBrush startup. This should be reserved for items you will absolutely be using every session. More situational items should be loaded through Lightbox on demand.

Make certain you are adding items to the startup folders, and NOT to the ZData folder. An improperly modified ZData folder is an easy way to break your ZBrush installation.

Hey,

thanks again,

Ok, i will look into that. I didn’t care about any paths and the structure to this point, as i am just starting.
But i can already see, that there are tools i will use more often than others. So i will keep an eye on what you said.
