smooth append intersection

At Siggraph a year or two ago I saw one of the demo guys at the Pixologic booth explain how to append horns onto a head, and somehow brushes behaved perfectly smoothly across the intersections.

I tried doing it by merging with Subtool Master, and that didn’t work well. I don’t think he did it the morph brush or anything like that. It was like he booleaned them together or something.

i’m pretty sure he just used the clay brush, which gives the illusion of hiding the seam between two meshs. there is no boolean function in zbrush right now. the closest you can get is using unified meshing or to retoplogize your models together.

No I know there isn’t a boolean. Your probably right though, he probably just combined them with InsertMesh, the MeshInsert Brush, or Subtool Master Merge, then used the clay brush to blend. And like you said, I can always retopo if I need it to be truly seamless.

I actually found a good little tutorial on zbrush.info

http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Mesh_Insert_Grotesque_Tutorial

Incidentally typing zbrush.info in the address bar no longer works, they must have changed some things around recently.

Thanks.
