Smart Resym pivot issue

Ok this is the first time I’ve come across this problem but I can’t figure out why this is happening.
I have half a head with the details on it and half which is blank - I want to smart resym the mesh. I’ve imported the original mesh from another app with the center in the middle of the world - all symmetrical and proper and yet when I hit smart resym the pivot is shifted quite a lot to one side.
The same happens when I tried to mirror another half mesh - the pivot was shifted.

Everything worked fine with the smart resym in zb 3.1. Is this a bug I wasn’t aware of? or is there some option I need to click. I don’t want to move the pivot point in zbrush [I know how to do that but it’s not an option for the production].

Thank you

Hey Magda

Can I see some images? Try this first. Click on Transform>S.Pivot. Don’t panic but your model will move. We will get the correct position back later. Do the Smart Resym as usual. Once done click on the Transform>C.Pivot and now the head will pop into the correct location.

Do you have a model that I can test this with? I do not know of any issue with this.

Paul

when you click on S.Pivot its best to go down to your lowest level and pick two polys and hide the rest at the center of your model so it will pivot off of those, then unhide.

Thanks very much guys the SPivot thing did it. Wow that’s a new one for me

Magda

Awesome. Was this only happening with the current model you were working on or is it doing that to every model?

Paul

Thanks for posting this, I have had a hella hard time trying to center pivot for a turntable.

Thanks again!
