I migrated to an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) 24 GB with an AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2048 MB graphics processor.
Zbrush runs very unresponsive and sluggish. I have tried to modify the memory settings in several ways but the program doesn’t work smootly as it used when I had an older end much less powerful Imac.
Any help for this annoying situation?
Thanks!!!
Zbrush doesn’t use the graphic card 3d acceleration and retina resolution is simply too high res.
Reduce the resolution to have a standard one. Not sure how the mac works but probably there are several ways to do it, not necessarily to reduce the general display but to do the change locally in Zbrush would be enough.
The other reason for slowdowns is accidentally activate dynamic subdivisions in medium or high res models. This will make everything way too slow.
