Slow History/Undo

Hi,

I am having “trouble” with the undo/history function in zbrush. When I am working on a hi-res model (20m polys) everything works nice and smooth. But when I press “undo” I can go for a coffe break. It takes literally 1-3 minutes to calculate something before I can work again. The following action will again take another minute (I guess because it overwrites the history) … then everything works nice and smooth again.

Any ideas how I could solve this.

why is your mesh 20million polygons?
have you considered HD geo instead?
can you break your object into subtools?

That was just an example, but sometimes that’s the resolution I like to work with to get all the detail.
HD at this point is not an option and I would like to avoid breaking it into subtools (seams)

I am just curious as well, because everything else runs in realtime - no delay at all. And then the undo takes forever.
