Slight blur to Maya displacement mel script fix in 2009?

I am trying displacement maps in Maya 2009 and as mentioned in another thread, at least 2 people have had to keep using the Marcotronic/Scott Spencer mel script to get rid if displacement seams.

Maybe this happened in 2008 and I never noticed but…when I use the mel script in 2009, it removes the seam and blurs the displacement details somewhat.

Has anyone else confirmed this in either Maya 2008 or 2009?

Actually
using a normal and cavity map is disguising the problem well enough.
Although on another board someone confirmed the blurry issue.

oooooh is that why my displacement maps are bulbus when I render it? Is there a fix?

Some said to turn off the quadratic setting in the Displacement node…
