This was covered elsewhere. R6 has changed the way it dynameshed groups. It gives the area between groups they’re own poly groups. After remeshing, do a AutomGroups in the Poly groups panel, and you’ll be sorted.

  1. Do your slice with SliceCurve brush.
  2. Turn on DynaMesh with ‘Groups’ on, ‘Project’ off.
  3. Click ‘Auto Groups’ in ‘Tool > Polygroups’.
  4. Click ‘Groups Split’ in ‘Tool > Subtool > Split’ to seperate segments into subtools if you want.
