I would like to share with you a recent anatomy study
A realistic anatomical human skull originally based on a CT scan, where I extracted the 3d mesh with 3DSlicer. Cleaned, modeled, fractured each bone of the skull carefully by hand with a lot of boolean workflows. I also used the Smoothing Brush with Sculptris Pro Mode a lot to quickly get rid of all the tiny flying geometry islands.
Textured and baked in Substance Painter and rendered in Blender with Cycles.
The skull has been reviewed by doctors and professors of the medical faculty of my local university.
