Skin Textures

brush and PS (Zapplink etc) and I want to do the skin pores. What is the best way to do this?

Also , say I have a picture of someone in photshop, is there anyway to use this, desaturated or something and then use it as a mask within zbrush so I can paint in the pores and wrinkles etc?

Try doing a search for “pores” here at ZBC. You’ll get quite a few suggestions. You’ll want a good skin alpha or two, and you can find those by doing a search for “alphas” in the subject line.

For your second question you can actually use ZAppLink to clone the source skin onto your model as texture. Once the texture is painted you can use Tool>Masking>Mask by Intensity to use the texture as a mask. You can then sculpt through the mask to turn the painted pores into sculpted dimples.

Rgarding the second question does this mean that I take the head into Photoshop and paint all the textres from my photo reference and then take back to Zbrush and then without doing anything else follow the above instructions right away? How will it pick up on intensity? Does it have to be in black and white?
