Skew alpha in ZBrush?

Hi,

I’ve been trying to figure this out, but haven’t been able to find anything. I’ve got a custom alpha which i made myself and works ok. When I use it in ZBrush I want some areas to have that alpha be a bit more skewed/slender -are there any settings in ZBrush I could tweak it’s size instead of going back and forth from Photoshop back to ZBrush?

Thanks!
N

Hello @Niovi,

You will have to be more specific about what you want to do. Simply changing the draw radius to a smaller size will allow you to paint on smaller, more slender surfaces. You must be referring to something else. Please illustrate what you want to do here.

If you are talking about a tapering stroke, this can be done with basic tablet pressure sensitivity aided by Lazy Mouse, or by enabling Curve Stroke functionality, and enabling the “Size” modifier in Stroke> Curve Modifiers.

Hi @Spyndel

I’ve attached two images for example

Top is the original and the 2nd is the desired result - in the screen shot to get the brush/alpha skewed I changed the dimensions in 2D software.
What I am looking for is to get that result - the skewed alpha- in ZBrush without needed to to go to another software to do that.

I hope this makes it clearer?

If you’d like to be able to adjust the alpha shape on the fly, use the Spotlight, Stencil, or even Projection Master feature.

hi thanks for the reccomendations, i ve looked tutorials on all 3 and tried them but i found each one had something that didnt quite work

using spotlight was good to get the image skewed but i couldnt figure out how to export that image to alpha

any suggestions?
