Finally got the dwarf into maya after a good retexture:

Put the Mental Ray fast Skin Shader on him (the previous images were enhanced with photoshop using Match color), and tweaked in to work with the leather as well. It was two hours of general tweaking and frustration but considering, I think Its going in the right direction, though I didn’t record this session knowingly that I was experimenting, and didn’t have a direction, when I do record it will appear much much smoother

so updating my thesis, left me with little time to do much else unfortunately, But this past hour I cranked out a simple model and finished another.

I really like your style, but I think your DOF is too narrow. I feel like at a minimum the faces should be in focus.

Red deamon is very cool. I think you could put more love into hands of yours sculptures. But good stuff overall.
Love the Elephant and the Cow, they have loads of character. Some really nice bump details in the faces too.
