Sketchbook Part 2

your last post isss soooo freakyyyy but awesomeee!
great workkk sir!

Love your work here!

Thanks guys

Sorry I havent been on. There was a lot to do over the new years, which reminds me, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I’ve been swamped with professional things here and there and didn’t really have time to do anything personal, and so I haven’t really had time to sculpt gasp That and I’ve been playing Skyrim (cause its badass)

but anyway, to back in the flow, I decided to do a quick 30 min long session before I fell asleep as to try and get back into a flow:

granted its rough, but I’m just getting back into the flow after an extended break. More to come

How do you do such amazing work in 30 m. It takes me forever to do my work. All your work is great!

I kept it really rough as you can see. I also don’t jump around with brushes. I use the clay build up tool for practically everything so I can just go go go. Granted it was like 3 AM when I posted this so I’m pretty upset with how it came out, but I posted it so whatevs, I’ll probably polish it up some soon.

Thanks for stopping by. :+1:

Finally found some free time (at 2 AM) to sculpt a little more

It seems like you don’t always use symmetry, and your able to just slap your work without it. What are your thoughts on using symmetry?

nicksc: symmetry is something that will force your models to feel inorganic, as symmetry doesn’t happen on the human form. I use it to begin my sculpts but mid way through I abandon it all together (with the exception of my 17 min sculpt) If you want to chat about this, my email is on my site.

Really great stuff !!

thanks man

okay I know the changes are subtle but I adjusted the image and cropped it, I rather like the way it flows now
and then theres the uncropped version attached below

i like the face and expression a lot, but the mustache feels like floppy dog ears. separate the strands of hair more maybe - or wait till the 23

maybe you should try to use less hair and make it longer , just a constructive critic.
awesome work.

I like the character as is personally, but I did update it, giving the hair more depth and more strand-like nature. I also tweaked the helmet to fit the head better. and then cut him up a bit :stuck_out_tongue: and darkened some shadows. I think it flows better over all.

Other than that I have two other things I need to start so I think I’ll just say this is done for now.

I was a beta tester for the new 4r2b, here are some images that I created, when I was doing my thang.

The fur on the sheep and boy are incredible. Goat man is weird since there is no clumping and the strands look real thick.

I agree, pan was the first attempt. I was just playing around at that point.
