Every your thread has many useful tips, great explanation and source files with setups  Now I see… I’ve bookmarked all of Your thread :o and reading them like bible at last one time per week
Many THANX

About time man. I wonder why it took so long.
Looks like a lot of people only look at the top row. Your have had your threads active for a while now with constant updates.

Anyway. The depth cue picker is handy.

depth cue picker? that would be handy wheres that then?

check the guide on page 10

Beautiful models here. I love this one.
Very beautiful and strong.
Congrats my friend!!

Hey Julian, congrats on the well deserved top row. And thanks for the lights and shaders! I just did a render for an article and wish I had seen this before hand…

Rafe - Thanks man. Glad you like it.
Poda - well, at least you got it for the next one

Great stuff Julian, checked out your website (thanks for taking the time to visit mine & comment;)) Alot of your stuff reminds me of a mix of Francis Bacon & Raymond Pettibon. You’re really doing some inspiring work. Is the progeria piece of Leon Botha?

Shhark - Thanks for stepping by ma. No it’s not particularly Leon Botha. Oddly I learned about him only when I was already quite far with the model. Regardless from there on it was of course also inspired by him.
Either way I didn’t want to make a portrait of someone specific. rather than an imaginery portrait of “anybody” with Progeria.
Also, essentially it isn’t that much about the condition Progeria but about the condition ‘life’ itself, because that’s what Progeria is in a way - a very condensed version of life. The beauty and the struggle of lving between birth, aging and death we all share is just a lot more imminent and less ignorable for someone with Progeria, because it is determined to happen a lot faster and more obvious than for the rest of us.

Man, that Mickey and fat man sculpt scenery is so wonderfully bizarre and disturbing, you gotta finish it

Never heard of Raymond Pettibon before. Gotta check his work out.

great work! really interesting stuff!
