Skeleton Muscle Study

Hello all,

It’s nice to finally have something I can post here again.

The other day, it dawned on me that it has been over ten years since my cadaver lab studies. With a little bit of perspective, I now realize that one of the greatest benefits of those classes was learning the origin and insertion points for all the major muscle groups. So, with that in mind, and as a much needed refresher, I went back and created this ZTL, with all the major muscle forms placed over the skeleton as separate subtools.

Hope you enjoy.

later,

Hi Zac, nice to see you back in the forum.
This is a really nice study, and really shows your knowledge about anatomy.
I wanted to do something like this a while ago, but then returned to fleshy characters again. I think someone really has to master the skeleton and muscles first before he is able to create believable characters.
I have to force myself to go back to the roots (the inside), but it´s always hard to stay disciplined and not trying to rush things : /

Great work!

Zack, this is Spectacular! Realy like the peal away aspect of the subtool structure, its perfect for this. great sculpt.

Very cool! How did you construct the feet? Also do you have more images of the forearms and hand muscles?

Lovely pieces!!!
I’ll definitely click “save image as…” as my muscle study…
Love it…

Wow! I love how you got all all the muscles and details in there but still nailed the volumes and forms.
Very Impressive work even for a Master like your self.
If you ever decide to sell that tool on the Gnomon site or wherever I will buy one.

I just bought the tutorial for this from gnomonology, fantastic work as usual.

Edit: Harmonic, you can buy the zlt for this model from zackpetroc.com.

five from me!

This is one wonderful model. Zack you are also one of my greatest ZBrush mentors. Glad to see you on the forum again  :+1: :+1:

Very well done. Ghastly imagery!

wow… thank you.:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Wonderful sculpt, design, and execution! This work serves as a anatomy tutorial as well! :+1: :+1:

As usual inspiring work , and thank you for the tutorial

I second Harmonic. Great tool for anatomy study. If you sell it, I will buy one.

Superb! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

This is really nice, I love how your sculpts always have a dynamic feel to them. A simple pose but a bit of tension here and there and it look so much cooler than a more static pose. I love it.

Great work as usual Zack. In to the inspiration folder it goes…

Beautiful work! The human body is a masterpiece. Can we see a side view? I would also like to see how the clavicle, delts and traps come together, if you can?

Thanks!

this is great!
more views please =)

my words exactly.
good stuff, zack.
