im starwars fan, and create a palpatine cgi was one of my challenge.
zbrush were used for head,robe,hand model and colormap.
rendered using mentalray.

One thing that bothers me is that both hands seem to be little bright. Especially
his left hand is little too bright thus it pops up too much against the background. However, I might be totally wrong.
He really looks great. Keep it up!

… I guess I do have 1 C&C … the hands could be better, the face looks really good but the hands dont look nearly as good.
it is a good looking render… but you need to turn down the SSS in the hands i think… makes the skin look unreal… hands are a big part of a character…

A hell of a sculpt! You captured his likness really well. The cloth folds are nicely modeled. I like the lighting too…
I do have to agrre with the others on the hands. They are sculpted well, but the high intensity SSS makes them stand out way too much. Your eyes got to them instead of to the face. They kind of make him look like a wax sculpture.
Should be an easy fix though.

Excellent! Nice to see one of the cooler villains on film in 3D. I guess the point about the hands is already made clear enough. Personally, I think his expression is a bit friendly… Would it be hard to lower his ‘eyebrows’ a little? A bit more frown to show is evil thoughts… :evil:

He has such a great face for zbrushing.
Any chance of seeing some wire frames and a close up of the face?

This is a superb model. The details are fantastic and you really captured the likeness. I particularly like the way you have modeled the robes. I have to askhow did you model the robes? Do you start in a particular way? Top work mate.
wow I’m still learning to handle zbrush but my pc doesn’t seem to work with it very well… but if it did this would be what I want to do … maybe you can make the fingernails a little more “dirty” … do you do requests ?

the robe geo looks great
and the port is dead on. I would grpsplit the hands, up the sub d and go nuts
