simple unified skin problem

Hey guys,

I am a bit new to zbrush but have some prob with the unified skin that
i think can be fixed very easy.

I did a tutorial on Zclassroom where Sebastian Legrain explains how to reshape a 3d cube to a real cube instead of a squeezed sphere.

He just used the unified skin: set its resolution to 8. smooth to 0.
Ofcourse… this should give me just a Cube. But… when i do this in zbrush 3.5 i just get some cubey cutoffs.

some know why this is?

thnx alot

The unified skinning algorithms have changed. In 3.5 use a different approach:

Take the Polysphere that is on screen when you launch and reconstruct subdivision levels a few times (in the Tool>Geometry menu). When you get down to six polygons, guess what you’ve got? :)

thnx this also works mutch faster than the other method.

hi… here another question… only when i restart brush i see the cubic sphere.
when i already used zbrush and i go to my tools en click the Sphere 3d . it isnt a cube anymore. it still has that wireframe lines that centers on two sides.

how can i get the 3d cube without restarting zbrush?
initialize zbrush didnt work for me

It’s the PolySphere model. NOT the Sphere3D, which is a parametric object. You can find it using Light Box, or in the ZTools folder using Tool>Load Tool.
