Simple Maya Problem [Hopefully]

I am having 2 simple problems in Maya.

I am using Maya 7.0.1

All the below renders are done with Maya Software

All of the below problems are not happening in 3dsmax

[Problem 1]
When I zoom out from my model a little ways, the UV texture seams become visible. Please refer to the two images from a distance, and the 3rd image which is a render done much closer to the model showing you it’s not a texture painting problem.

Check around the neck and shoulders for the visible seams

[Problem 2]
When using production quality (Maya Software) it is blurring my texture details right out of the final render, preview render actually looks better because my texture isn’t being blurred. See below.

Any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

did you use guv-tiles?
i had a smiliar prob w/ maya because guv tiles

No, he was completely unwrapped with 3dsmax.

I suspect the problem is because the farther away from the texture you get the less accurate the UV coords it’s grabbing is…still no answer yet.

bump

Hi MoonDoggie:

Try turning OFF filtering in your file texture nodes…

Chris

Problem 1 - do you have some colred area tha go byoned the U UV map
Problem 2 - the filter type change from preview to production… you can try that

Trying now

Thanks Chris, that did solv my production/preview render problem!

Thank you as well Ashaiad.

The problem is fixed, the filtering was causing the blurring and it seemed to correct the edge seams problem as well.
