I have worked on my sculpt. Hope you like it (I tried to change my muscle mass but still working on it.)

Cool stuff, keep going at it, it will just get better and better. Somtimes taking a break from the screen and coming back gives you some fresh eyes on how the overal form is coming on. Normaly keeping it simple works best.

I highly sugest 3d.sk or even better the Book (Human Anatomy for artest,) by Eliot Goldfinger, im gaining so much from this. If you need any help il be happy to assist in any way I can. and am sure many others are at hand as well.

I got books from burne hogarth and I got the one human anatomy for the artist but the one about bone and muscle is it the same ?

I think there are a few Human Anatomy for artest done by different writers. The one I have is The Elements of form.

This book has bones and muscle, form, volume, posture surface muscle, if there is a better books id like to buy it. For general sculpting usage I cant imagine a better book.

my geometry was not distributed where I wanted it ! So I’ve redone my zsphere, and going to remake my edge loop (witout removing the eye and mouth.)

I think that learning zbrush is just like sculpting miniatures, when you are out of ways to fix something, restart from scratch.

Back to subdi 1, this is what I did so far. My speed improved on that one. Took me half the time to do this much.

I added some geometry to the head, arm and leg. Espeacially in the joints for the arm and the leg. Added the eye line and mouth line. So it will be easyer to mesure the face (and more poly there ! )

Did a big mistake in those. I once again cutted holes. I’m doing something to be printed so I am not alowed to have holes :frowning:

But those were test so no biggy !

Hey Gang ! I have some good news, I’ll be starting my Zsphere clothe tutorial next week. It will be basic but I’m sure many people will apreciate it.

here is a picture of what I did in about 4 hours. (yeah learning is long)

I did them all with zsphere. I’ve seen where I had made errors in previous creation so I am going to use a slightly different technique for the next try.

hey guys ! I redid the boots and still trying to get the long coat done… I want to make it a \\Censored by the author\\ and I think I have to reshape a lot of him. that wont get me client yet. I’m thinking of redoing the whole character but this time in separated tools. I don’t know about that tho. Tell me if that is a good idea or not. I may do the head in a different tool tho because I’m never happy with the topology I have. Ok I make it quite nicely this time but still will not make any client with that. I’m watching the work from various artist and I’m in awe. Dang I can’t do pin-point anatomy, and that is what I need in my industry. I would like advice, should I make a retopology of my current dummy or restart from scratch again ? Yup thinking of exploring retopo tools in zsphere. I think I will need it for the coat, because I just can’t seem to make it right with zsphere alone. (damn that is long post). Oh and I am working on the basic clothing tutorial. I just need to get a program like fraps that will record my steps with my voice.(I’m giving it a try). The best way to learn is to teach sometimes.

Hope to have some good advice, oh and by the way thanks to all that give me comment, even if they send only good one I would apreciate some constructive critique too.

I think my hand method is really suiting for begginers also. I’ll try to make a tutorial about this one too.

Thats the to think, Iv lost count how many times iv made the same character. As long as they get better then your doing well.

Be carefull adding too many polygons in isolated areas where you dont need them. The hand has too many splits in back of hand. Try to evenly distribute them and keep them as square as posible. It make be ok at lower sub-d levels, but at higher levels your have too many polys in the back of the hands, easy to get lumpy and bumpy and crease.

If im making a mesh with Zsphears I personaly leave stumps and make the hands in another application. I can post as sample here if you like, or send it to you.

The problem I have is that I am a 3D (maya, 3dsmax and all other than Zbrush) illeterate. I am working in Zbrush only and retopology tool is quite ennoying sometime (it does not load all the topology at the same time and it can take up to 15 to 20 load to have it all.

I am not making my hand with zspheres but using edge loop. I’ll try to do a retopology of my model and project it once finished. But again I’m not using zbrush to make animation but sculpts to be printed in 30mm scale.

I’m just getting where I want to go with what I have :slight_smile:

But please send me your stuff in my thread it will be helpfull. I’ll do a photo tutorial for clothing.
