my 2nd post here on zbrushcentral. always been a huge fan of the surfer and his philisophical adventures. I wish they’d let him spin off and do his own movie…

have to agree with glitcher hes superbuff, anatomy seems like hogarth influence. nice pose, needs his board though and you might want to try a chrome material, i’ve seen some on the board if you do a search. also please don’t pull a mignola, you’ve done such great work eveywhere except the feet.

Anatomy and sculpting is awesome.
But Surfer is supposed to have a sleek and somewhat graceful form. He’s a little too musclebound for me as the Surfer.

The Surfer is on the juice for sure. Nice anatomy, but he is too buff for the surfer. Also, his lower legs are less defined than his upper legs. I remember when they started drawing The Flash that way. It didn’t look right for a guy that’s supposed to be fast and aerodynamic to be so bulky. I think the surfer needs to be sleeker.

Well done. Not a typical surfer image- but it does look like the way Andy Smith draws the surfer. Some critiques- the neck and head position could use some work. There is a strange bulge on the back right side of the neck. It looks like he is pulling his neck back almost too far (its a head position I think a person with a less muscular neck could make, but this neck appears more muscle bound- the muscle bunch up and would possibly prevent this position). Another area to check might be the left Bicep- it appears less massive then the right bicep… but it should be actually bigger (the bicep will expand as the muscle flexes). Finally- maybe some more work on the feet? I’m not saying toe (I am aware the surfer has none) but the current feet look unfinished considering the detail of the rest of the body. Interesting work.
…but to be strict, to me the back of the triceps looks a bit unusual!!!

his neck’s way too thick IMO or rather his head is way too small… looks like he’s having some serious thyroid problem! I do like his face though! Hope you won’t change that…
I dunno this is great and the anatomy looks fine but I prefer the non hulk-like silver surfer
