silkyskeeter's sketchbook

Im a beginner at this, but here is a figure I am currently working on. See everyone else doing sketchbooks so I decided to start one myself.

Fixed some of the bad anatomy I had going on, sculpted some more, changed the material, and put her in a pose for kicks xD

Critiques always welcome.

Attempting to do Vegeta, from Dragonball Z, in zbrush.VegTest.JPG

How many polygons? ( IT"S OVER 9000!!! )

Sorry had to do it :stuck_out_tongue: Looking good, I think you could try inflating exaggerating the eyebrows a bit more.

@johnchen thanks. I knew someone would say it xD

Did a quick polypaint.
VegTest1.JPG

Wasn’t happy with my last results so I went back to a previous save and reworked some things.

folk, nice poses… to duplicate the girl eye go to Geometry’s menu, then click Mirror and Weld

Playing around with fibermesh.

More playing around with fibermesh except this time I did a sculpt of one of my exes. Trying to condition my eye to sculpt more realistically.

LoL, I have a whole new respect for woman (or any person that has long hair). Styling hair is hard XD

Have to make a car for my 3D Modeling II class. Can’t seem to figure out a design I am happy with. But, this is what I have so far (of the design that I have gotten the farthest with)

Critiques always welcome but dont be too harsh as this is just simple silhouette sculpt. No details have been added yet (besides the tires)

I’m jealous, I’ve tried cars so many times, and none were worthy of even posting on this website…
Great job, keep at it man
Corey

Nice start silkyskeeter. Keep at it. Zbrush now has all the tools required. Question though, are you required to use Zbrush? If not, your preferred polygonal modeling program might be a easier way to go.

Ezra

@corey Thanks, yeah I know your pain. This is the first hard surface sculpt I have ever felt good enough about to post up (and it isn’t even good but better than some of the other crap I did).

@Esra No we are not required to use Zbrush but I can use Zbrush easier and faster than I can polygonal model. So, for me, it is A LOT easier for me to sculpt in Zbrush, retopologize, then GOZ into Maya. Yeah, I know that sounds weird but that is how I am because I learned Zbrush before I learned polygonal modeling in Maya (mostly because it is so close to actually drawing, where as polygonal modeling is NOTHING like drawing). The professor allows me to do it that way because it is faster for me and he said “In the end, you find your own way of doing things. As long as you get the right end results by your deadline, it doesn’t matter the method you went about getting to those results.”

If I was to do this same thing in Maya, it would take me hours. Where as, this took me 20 mins (xD which is why I love Zbrush <3). But, I am concepting atm (this may not even be the concept I even choose to pursue), the assignment is not due til the 17th.

But I will take your advise into account, test it out and see the results from that. Thanks for your comment and well wishes :).

My storm WIP that I am doing. This is for the CGHUB’s CharacterFORGE 3D : ROUND 015 :small_orange_diamond: SUPERHERO TURNED VILLIAN challenge. I choose Storm, from Xmen… Not sure yet what villian-ish thing I will have her doing for the final render though. Or which of Storm’s outfits I will use (if I use any of them at all). Just sculpting out the general form.

Just a quick render for fun.
Again, critiques are always welcome.

Her thighs look quite large to me, keep it up though

Started from a sphere. From the sphere I just sculpted the head, torso, and shoulder. Then used the insert cylinder brush for the legs, arms, and fingers. Dynameshed the whole thing. Sculpted details in, turning off dynamesh and subdividing. Then froze the transformations and QRemeshed the lowest subdivision lvl (using draw topology brush lines as guides) and then turned off freeze transformations. Man I am loving the new QRemesher feature.

Im still learning anatomy so I am sure the anatomy isn’t perfect and this is far from finished but critiques are always welcome.

Attempting to sculpt Anna from Superior Spider Man (Peter’s gf when Doc Oc took over Peter’s brain). Not a pro but criques always welcome.

Wasnt liking the face so I changed it a bit, added ear rings, and started on the base meshes for her clothes.

ZBrush Document.jpg

Making slow progress on her but slow progress better than no progress.

Really liking how she is coming along. Loving the new modeling brush in 4r7 xD
