I saved a blank Startup doc in the ZStartup folder and it still does not start up with that document by default. Has something changed?
Oh, NVM, it does work! It loads with the double size document i saved but it loads that damn sphere everytime still so I was confused.
Yes Im looking for the same answer, I just dont want the sphere at startup, I did the same thing as in 3.1, just need an answer to sphere removal…any body??
cheers
J
That poor sphere. Everybody hates it. What did that sphere ever do to you?
Lol, I don’t really hate it. It’s great if you’re starting to flesh out ideas for new projects, but not if you’re already working on something else.
I think the purpose of the sphere is to act as a stand-in for whatever model you’ll be loading - so it loads in already in edit mode.
Go to ZBrush3.5\ZScripts and open DefaultZcript.txt in a plain text editor…
The easiest way to bypass the sphere all together is to comment out the third line which reads:
[If,1,[FileNameSetNext,“ZPLUGS_SplashData/SphereStartup.txt”][IPress,ZScript:Load]][pd]
by adding // at the start of that line.
Then add a fourth line that simply says [pd] and save it.
HOWEVER, that may be something Pixologic wouldn’t recommend, though if it would cause a problem Pixologic will surely say so.

I’ve grown quite fond of spheres. I think it is an autism thing.
Yes, it would be nice to be able to have more control of that.
LOL well the sphere is just in my face on startup…someone must have an answer at Pixologic…anyone??
How did you get ZB to remember the changed document size?
I saved a blank document like you said and put it in the startup folder, but it doesn’t work.
What’s the correct file name and location?
save as startUpDocument
But you gotta save your config file to in your prefs

Yeah, it’s working now
Thank you!
