Shortcut 'A' for Preview not working

Hi all,
days ago, I noticed the ‘A’ shortcut didn’t work to preview the resulting mesh from ZSpheres, so I simply defined the ‘A’ with the normal way: CTRL+LMB on PREVIEW botton in ADAPTIVE SKIN palette.

Today I’m working with ZSketches and the ‘A’ to preview the resulting mesh from UNIFIED SKIN is not working, because it has been previously assigned to ADAPTIVE SKIN, of course!
Doing the same CTRL+LMB for unified puts ‘A’, but leaves it from adaptive!

So, I’m sure I made something wrong, but now: how to restore the ‘A’ shortcut beloved by both skin?
Really, really thanks in advance.

i lost all of my hotkeys a while back.
I just did a reinstall of Zbrush and that fixed it right up.

I have made the same mistake. By default A is assigned to both.

This is yet another example of why having no inbuilt Shortcut key editor is particularly annoying. Everything should be accessable, navigation n all, with presets, and a config saving system like most apps in the 21st century.

Can you tell I am bitter? Reinstall shouldn’t be the solution for something so fundamental.

Ok, reinstalled and everything is fine now, thanks guys.

Jim M, you’re right: as I supposed, the mechanism of ‘A’ shortcut, that control two different commands in two different contest, has more to do with programming than simple key assignments.
There should be just one “Preview” button (so with just one shortcut) that is able to preview selected skin.

Anyway, the reinstalling has been a little hard for me, 'cause I discovered my “Windows Installer Service” had problems, so it was impossible to install/uninstall any application!
So I had to solve first that problem and just after I was able to solve my ZBrush problem!
The conclusion is: things never go straight with machines!
An alternative solution to double ‘A’ shortcut instead of uninstall/reinstall is highly needed, so, Pixologic, you’re advised!

I think they know about its failings, and the desire that many people have to set up navigation conformant accross all apps. Its just is it a priority for them? I would understand if it wasnt, I mean its more interesting to code some wacky new tech than it is to do a form editor.

Jim,
you’re right, 'cause reinstalling a program isn’t a professional solution, but, in the end, really I don’t see any problem to that, 'cause it’s so light in term of uninstalling /installing.
Problems are when things get worst when you have to solve collateral problem or you’re in short time like I was yesterday!

Anyway, the ZBrush way to create shortcuts is the most intuitive I work with, I see the same only with Gimp: a shortcut editor is good, of course, but when you have to find your command in a long long long list of commands, operators, plugins and so on... well, it's not so simple! Maybe, Pixologic has only to put all the shortcuts in a txt file as they did for custom shortcuts (\Pixologic\ZBrush 3.5 R3\ZStartup\HotKeys\StartupHotkeys.TXT), so you need to delete that file to reset all shortcuts in one shoot! That's all! No more hard-coded shortcuts if not to create a new startuphotkeys.txt and restart from this!

And having a wacky tech in my belt, well, makes always me happy and steady, even if a shortcut has gone: better a shortcut that a job!
