Shogun in the wild

Here is one of my models from my student reel from VFS. His name is Shogun and he’s a near future samurai with traditional methods. I used XSI to model him zBrush to detail the ground plate, his pants and socks. Photoshop for the texturing and After Effects for the final look. Crit and comments are always welcome.

No crits.

This is some really polished modeling. Wonderful.

The only question is: Who do you want to work for? I think you will have a nice lot to choose from.

Lets see more.

Regards, James.

Beautiful work. One thing though… this guy looks pretty formidable, his armour looks pretty tough, etc., so… what’s up with the flip-flops?

j/k - Let’s see some more of your work!

Thanks guys. Your too kind… Arrrg my newly inflated ego!!! The flip flops are like the description says…traditional methods…just like a traditional samurai would have but modern materials.

Here are my design sketches of Shogun. Some color schemes as well & a close up of the eyes.

Some of the buttons on your web site don’t work, the Gallery, Resume and Friends buttons.

I click and hear the sound, but nothing changes.

Sorry about the site… Still under construction…The demo reel should work fine now, let me know if anyone else has problems. Thanks for the heads up:+1:

looks good!

JeffPlamondon- Woah, really enjoy your shogun piece. Top notch images, professionally executed.
As much as I like the armor images and the bamboo tree stalks, I also enjoyed the way the image without his helmet/face mask looks and the background subdued gives it a nice use of compositional space. Keep it up, great stuff will be watching for more :+1: :+1: . Got my 5 stars!!
