Sharpening your Divides

Hope this isn’t too much of a noob question but is there a way to divide a model and keep the edges slightly sharp? I’m working on a hard surface object and this would be really helpful…

thanks

Yep there is. The smooth button next to “divide” in the geometry tab.

this plugin is what you want

Awesome thank you…

With both of your methods…can I even bring in a model without bevels? Or should I still bevel it?

Hey spaceboy, are you telling me, that crease divide still works in 3.5??
Gotta try that out right now!

I got rid of all my old plugs as everybody said that none of them are working in 3.5 anymore. I actually found out the other day, that the hair master is still working

Oh and dragotron this doesn’t replace a good bevel.

so whats the best way to bevel for this? Just actually creating the bevel or build up foundation lines near edges before smoothing?

I’m sorry i have to tell you this, but that depends on your model and what you are going for. It also depends on what version of ZB you are using. With 3.5 R3 and the new polish brushes this can be achieved right in ZB with a lot of control. If you do your basemodel (and the main bevels) in another app. and then import into ZB you can achieve amazing details with those brushes and the new polygroups.

Why don’t you post some images of your model?
