Shallow screen - cant see some shelf tools - Answered

Hi all. Just learning ZBrush and loving it.

This forum is smart, and very helpful, but I’ve got a problem and can’t find a solution to it here so I’ll ask…

My monitor resolution is 1366x768 and some of the shelf buttons are getting cut off at the bottom.

I’m doing a tutorial and reached a bit where I am told to ghost/transparent a mesh, but because the button is offscreen I can’t.

My questions are:

  1. Is there a way to access the missing buttons?

  2. Where in the menus is the ghost/transparent option?

ZBrush’s recommended resolution is 1280x1024 or higher. See http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/system/ You can run it at 728 height, but it is not going to be an optimal experience.

Everything on the Shelf is able to be accessed from elsewhere within the interface, however. The Transparency and Ghost buttons are found in the Transform palette.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah - I had read about the recommended screen size - the version I use at work is fine, but I have a version I practice with at home on my laptop which has the screen res I mentioned. It’s brand new too, so I won’t be changing it soon

So, am I right in thinking that I have to live with the shelf as it is when working at this resolution?

What else is affected by working at this res, as everything else seems to be ok? (relative to my limited knowledge, that is)
