Hi everyone!
I have a model with a flat color and am trying to render a shadow pass for a turntable… but the shadows wont show up on the render like they do on this video: http://www.pixologic.com/interview/artist-in-action/demo-reel-with-zbrush/5/… he does it around the first 5 minuts of the video… what am i doing wrong?
I have shadows turned on in the render options!
I would also like to know the answer to this question please
If it’s what I think it is (and what my tests seem to show), it’s because you’re using the default “Flat Color” material. It appears that that material overrides shadow casting. What you need to do instead is clone that material out to a normal material by doing a save as. Select the Flat Color mat, click Save in the Material Palette, give it a new name (I use “fullbright”), save the material. Next close Zbrush, restart and now reload that mat (or put it into your startup materials when you save so it loads automatically.) You should now see the “fullbright” material in your material palette. This new material will respect your shadow casting. I did a quick test, and it seems to work as you’d wish it to. Hope it helps.
You are right, it works. Thanks very much
