Hi all, just learning Zb4r4 and I am going through the Introducing Zbrush 4 book by Eric Keller (and very good it is too!).
I have just started to learn about Shadowbox and it seems that when I load the Shadowbox128.zpr project I have to invert it first in order that I can draw a mask on it to produce an object. If I don’t invert it I cannot draw a mask.
The problem with this is that the resulting 3d object is totally inverted. For example, if I draw a number 8 on one of the planes (after I have inverted it) I get a solid box with the numbner 8 drilled through the middle. This makes sense! But what doesn’t make sense is why I have to invert it in the first place to draw a mask on it.
In the book, Eric says all I need to do is load in the Shadowbox128 project and draw a mask and Shadowbox will generate the 3d object. Maybe this is a slight change in r4 (the book is r3 I think). Also if I draw a masking rectangle starting outside the Shadowbox that seems to work as you would expect. Why can I not just draw a mask straight on the Shadowbox freehand?
Appreciate any help or ideas with this! Suspect I am missing the obvious!
Many many thanks
Steve
