OK trying to follow along here in the docs. I have this working but I am experiencing some difficulty.
I create a Shadow Box from an object. Delete the mask.
I have an Alpha imported. I load that up, Mask by Alpha in the Masking Palette. UV mapped as it should be. All is well. Docs say to then click in Shadow Box to update. Click where? Nothing happens.
Of course I click the Shadow Box Button and the box goes away - of course, leaving my mesh in the shape it should be. The problem starts here. Lets say I want to edit the mask, nope. Can’t do that because when I click the Shadow Box button it smooths the object back down and removes detail. I can do this several times and reduce it to a nub. I have to start over. Load the mask…
This can go on forever.
However, I found quite by accident, that if I change the UV map size and undo, right after I load up the alpha, it pops the geometry into the box. Good. That works. I can edit the mask if I want.
That… seems like a bug. (or another tricky way to update the Shadow box)
Other than that, it works. But as a tool maybe I just don’t understand something. Because working with it seems quirky.
